Science & Invention Autographs

British molecular biologist (1916-2004), most noted for being a co-discoverer of the structure of the DNA molecules in 1953, which awarded him the 1962 Nobel Prize in Medicine. Signed book "Life Itself", first edition 1981. A total of 192 pages, 5.7 x 8.6 inches, dust covers with minor damage, otherwise in excellent condition. 

American politician (1890-1969) was the Assistant and then United States Secretary of the Navy, and also served as the 42nd Governor of New Jersey, commonly known as "Lord Edison", he was a son of the famous inventor Thomas Edison.  Signed photograph, inscribed, bold handwriting and signature. Size is 8 x 10 inches, some light silvering to dark portions and a few surface marks, otherwise in excellent condition. 

American inventor (1847-1931) and businessman, considered the greatest American inventor of all time. 1,000 stock shares certificate for The Edison Portland Cement Company signed on verso by the famous American inventor; the paper tab indicates it was issued on June 30, 1899. Size is 11.5 x 8.6 inches, red ink overwriting on the signature, otherwise in very good condition.

German-born theoretical physicist (1879-1955), creator of the Theory of Relativity, one of the pillars of modern physics, and other achievements, and 1921 Nobel Prize winner.  Regular postcard attached with 3 half-tone photographs to it signed by him over the bottom, dated April 21, 1922. Size is 5.5 x 3.5 inches, jagged edges, some rust stains, otherwise in very good condition.

Austian ophthalmologist and physician (1851-1930) who developed an important scientific career. An original photograph of Fuchs by photographer Max Schneider (Vienna) mounted on a photographer's mat where the ophthalmologist signed. Total size is 7.75 x 11.5 inches, some silvering, minor stains, otherwise in excellent condition.

French physicist (1900-1958) and husband of Irene Joliot-Curie, with whom he was jointly awarded the Nobel Prize in Chemistry in 1935 for their discovery of induced radioactivity. Fine card attached with a half-tone photograph signed by him and mounted on a mat. Total size is 8.75 x 7.9  inches, card is 5.5 x 4.5 inches, some rust stains, otherwise in very good condition.

American astronomer (1834-1906), physicist, inventor of the bolometer and aviation pioneer who built the first mechanically propelled heavier-than-air machine to ever fly.  Autograph letter signed by him, about personal matters.  Size is 4.4 x 6.9 inches, 1 page, central fold, minor stains, in very good condition.

American doctor (1924-2015) and discoverer of the Renin (kidney hormone).  Time magazine front cover issued on January 13th, 1975, signed and inscribed by him with a short sentiment, dated in 1989 (not full magazine). Size is 8.25 x 10.75 inches, minor stains over the lower-left corner, otherwise in excellent condition

Austrian orthopedic surgeon (1856-1946) and father of the famed Konrad Lorenz.  Signed photograph, dated in New York, 1922.  Size is 8.75 x 11 inches, irregularly cut borders, in very good condition.

American soil conservationist (1888-1974).  First Range Conservation Issue dated in 1961 signed by him in blue ink.  Size is 6.5 x 3.6 inches, some pencil markings, in very good condition.

Italian inventor (1874-1937) and electrical engineer, known for his creation of a practical radio wave-based wireless telegraph system. Fine card signed by him attached with a half-tone photograph of him, mounted on a mat. Size is 8.75 x 7.8 inches, card 5.4 x 4.5 inches, rust stains, in overall very good condition.

French biologist and chemist (1822-1895), famous for his discoveries in vaccination, microbial fermentation and the process that bears his name, pasteurization. Autograph letter signed, one page, in French, dated in Paris in 1876. Pasteur writes to a colleague about a position as assistant professor, "I tried hard to find you a post among the assistants of the School, as you wanted, but at present the position pays too little and offers little of a future". Size is 5.25 x 8.1 inches, minor folds, in excellent condition. ALSO INCLUDED with this autograph letter signed is an original cabinet-style photograph of Pasteur by photographer Nadar, Paris, 4.25 x 6.5 inches, some spots on the image, in good condition. Pasteur is a highly sought-after science autograph and this is a great photograph to frame together with this excellent autograph letter signed by Pasteur.

American chemist, author, and educator (1901-1994), who was awarded the Nobel Prize in Chemistry in 1954 and the Nobel Peace Prize in 1962 for his peace activism. Fine black-and-white half-tone photograph signed by him, shown in his office. Size is 6.75 x 5.75 inches, minor creases, in very good condition.

American researcher and virologist (1914-1995), discoverer and developer of one of the first Polio vaccines. Signed photo, shown young, in a laboratory, size is 6.9 x 9.4 inches, in very good condition.

Russian-American aviation pioneer (1889-1972) in both helicopters and fixed-wing aircraft. Black-and-white photograph of an helicopter signed and inscribed by him with a short sentiment dated 1970. Size is 8 x 9.9 inches, in excellent condition.

American pediatrician (1903-1998) whose book "Baby and Childcare" (1946) was one of the best selling volume in its history's field. Signed black and white photo, size is 10 x 8 inches, in excellent condition.
